There are two lounges, one with a 48" HDTV, one with a Steinway grand piano.
We have two bedrooms (one en suite and one with a large Art Deco bathroom next door). Each has TV, tea and coffee facilities, hair-dryers and free WiFi. Bedroom 1 can be either a twin or super king size bed and bedroom 2 is a twin.
There is a large TV room and a music room with Steinway Grand Piano
There is ample parking in the grounds, and there are many seats and hammocks in the garden for guests to enjoy.
Breakfast consists of fresh fruit and juice, cereals, porridge, home-made yoghurt and preserves, eggs any style, sausages, bacon and all the trimmings. We are very happy to cater for Vegetarian and Vegan options given a little advance notice.
When there are a minimum of four guests, dinner is available. Packed lunches can also be provided.
There are four pubs in Allendale/Catton which serve meals, and two tea shops.
Thornley House is set in its own grounds with its own tree lined drive. The extensive gardens are opened to visitors to benefit the British Red Cross during the summer .

Noah's Ark painting purchased in Havana.
I decided to open a B and B for animal lovers after travelling around New Zealand using the ‘New Zealand B and B Guide’. This gave details of the owners’ animals and I selected those which had resident cats! I still travel extensively and miss my animals very much while I’m away; it occurred to me that there would be many people who, like me, miss their animals while travelling and so would enjoy the company of my pets - or even bring their own pets with them! All animals are welcome here and previous guests have brought cats, dogs, guinea pigs and even hawks! Pets may sleep in bedrooms but dog owners are kindly requested to keep them on leads in the house and grounds to avoid international incidents with the resident cats…….
